2016 Alternative Break Trip -Dominican Republic Jan. 2 – Jan. 10

Join a group of liked minded college students on an incredible alternative break trip this January in the Dominican Republic for a week of giving back and helping out. This one week trip just before the holidays will renew your spirit of humanity as you work on a project in the community of Derrumbadero, 40 kilometers from the Haitian border, to add additional improvements to their Community Center which was just recently completed by Bridges to Community. Work alongside our Dominican staff and family members, embracing the sense of community and pride they project in the completion of another Bridges to Community project.
Never been on an International Service Trip, no worries! Our staff in New York can walk you through the registration process, help you arrange a flight and provide you with all the information you need to be prepare for your trip. Once you land in the capital Santo Domingo, our bi-lingual staff will meet and greet you, introduce you to the others on your trip and get you setup for the night at a local hotel.
From there your week will fly bye, meeting the students and adults that benefit from using the Community Center, hearing from Community Leaders about the impact Bridges projects are having on their community and meeting additional project recipients. Your days will be full working on various projects during the day, afterwards enjoying a playful game of soccer or baseball with local kids. Evenings are spent reflecting on your day and enjoying the company of your fellow travelers and Bridges staff.
