Ivania Gomez

Ivania Gomez, Bookkeeper, MasayaIvania Gómez Jiménez has worked at Masaya’s administrative assistant since September 2004. She received her license in Business Administration from the University Popular de Nicaragua and her accountant degree from the Academy of Commerical Sciences. In her free time, Ivania likes spending time with her husband and son, likes to read and cook.

She has an incredible attention to detail and is avidly learning English. From Masaya, she loves spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters. She loves to dance, read, eat seafood and watch suspense and horror movies.

Margarito Peralta

Margarito Peralta, Community Project CoordinatorMargarito Eduardo Peralta has been working with Bridges since October 2004 as an Economic and Education Project Coordinator in Siuna. He coordinates agricultural projects, conducts credit training in communities and supports the International Volunteer Coordinators with student and medical groups. Margarito came to Bridges from a non-profit organization, The Movement of Women of Siuna in Defense of Life (MOMSEVID) where he served as project coordinator of home garden, cows and chicken projects. He is an agronomist with work experience that includes education, micro credit and community development.

Margarito studied Agriculture at INATEC, in Siuna. Originally from Siuna in the North Atlantic Autonomous Region of Nicaragua, he, his wife Gloria and their daughter Glorimar still reside there.

Apolinar Centeno

Apolinar Centeno, Community Project CoordinatorApolinar Centeno Davila has been working as a Community Coordinator at Bridges to Community in Siuna, Nicaragua since April 2007 focusing on public health concerns  (such as latrines, stoves, water projects and the recent hospital water and sanitation project.) He manages public health projects, writes up project plans with budgets and timelines, collects community funds from beneficiaries, coordinates in the selection process of beneficiaries and strengthens community organizations.

He came to Bridges from the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health where he was a Community Organization Technician working with midwives and community leaders to teach preventative education. Apolinar is originally from Siuna, RAAN and studied Public Health in the local university, URRACAN in Siuna. He is married and has two children.

Sebastian Ampie

Sebastian Ampie, Community Project CoordinatorA native of Nicaragua, Sebastian Alberto Ampié Cerda is from the Community of Niquinohomo, a municipality of Masaya. He started working for Bridges to Community as a Project Coordinator for the Nindiri site in November 2011. His responsibilities include organizing, motivating, training, creating budgets and providing follow up with community leaders as well as reporting on completed projects. He has also participated in Bridges’ Jinotega economic development study.

Sebastian graduated from the International School of Agriculture and livestock in Rivas, Nicaragua with a degree in Farming and Livestock Engineering. Prior to his work at Bridges, he was the Project Coordinator at Ebenezer Ranch assisting with workshops, training and working in community development. Additionally, he worked with FUNICA (Foundation for Techological Development in Farming, Livestock and Forestry in Nicaragua). Sebastian is married to Francis del Carmen Jimenez Barrios and they have one son.

Jimmy Gonzalez

Jimmy Gonzalez, Community Project CoordinatorJimmy Elmis Gonzalez is a Project Coordinator for the Bridges’ Masaya Site in Nicaragua. Originally from Las Conchitas Community in Masaya, he has been involved with Bridges since he was a young boy. He was the second student to receive a Bridges’ scholarship in 2003and graduated with a degree in Systems Engineering. He became an employee of the organization in January 2010.

His responsibilities for Bridges include working with community members in planning and implementation of community development initiatives. He also assists with the preparation of project proposals with budgets and works with the volunteer coordinators and their groups as needed.
