Volunteer Groups

Bridges to Community operates on a unique but simple principle: that poverty must be fought by people on both sides of the bridge. Development must take place not only in Nicaragua but also in the North America. Community development is not just about the material projects of building a school, or a house. At Bridges we believe that long term change also comes from building mutual understanding,

Business & Professional Groups

Business groups and adult professionals come on Bridges to Community's service trips for a variety of reasons: as part of a team-building strategy; as a component of corporate social responsibility; or just to 'give back' personally. Whatever the reason, our business groups find the experience impactful and rewarding on every level.

College & School Groups

Bridges to Community hosts many groups from High Schools, Prep Schools, Colleges, and Universities throughout North America. Some school groups use our trips as an Alternative Spring Break, or as part of a Service Learning program or curriculum. Other school groups are student run and managed as a volunteer effort and resume-building exercise.

Faith-Based & Mission Groups

Although Bridges to Community is a secular organization, many churches, synagogues, and other faith-based groups or organizations find our values, mission, and projects are a good fit for the way they lead their constituencies. For mission trips or youth programs, our programs are focused on community-based 'good works' and message of global unity.
