Meaghan Gruber
A lover of community, challenge, discovery and trees, Meaghan started her life in rural Massachusetts, but has called a variety of places home. She graduated from Dickinson College in 2007 with a degree in International Studies with a focus on Latin America. She studied abroad in both Nicaragua and India.
She spent from December 2008 until 2010 working with Water for Waslala, a potable water project in the rural and beautiful town of Waslala, Nicaragua, just a bit down the road from Siuna. Previous she completed a year of service at a medical clinic in Washington, D.C. and spent two months on an environmental, community-focused and social justice awareness raising bike tour through Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, Canada. For the past year she has worked as one of the two Volunteer Coordinators with the Siuna team.
Meaghan loves the guitar (... and really, really wants to learn how to play more!) and song, baking - especially for others, intense laughter, movie nights, and, most of all, being in the mountains of Nicaragua alongside friends.
