Our Mission:

Bridges to Community, Inc. is a non-profit cultural exchange organization that takes volunteers to developing countries to work, learn, and reflect. Through the process of living and working with local communities on construction, health and environmental projects, Bridges promotes cross-cultural learning, a deepening awareness of our global interdependence and a commitment to the common good.

Shared Work

We believe there is much to be gained by participating in a shared work experience with people from other cultures. As foundations are poured and blocks are laid we work together towards a common goal. Through that shared experience we learn about ourselves and learn from one another as well.

Empowerment

We believe that people are best served when they are empowered to realize their potential. Through our many and varied projects, we hope to celebrate each person's gifts and contributions while building confidence and pride on both sides of the "bridge."

Enlightenment

We believe that everyone who participates in these projects will be enlightened by the experience. Enlightenment takes many different forms, but we hope at the very least it allows this new understanding of our global interdependence to inform one's beliefs and one's actions at home.
